When you have put the investment and care into your ideal custom cabinets, you want to make sure they continue to contribute to the beauty of your kitchen. With the proper care, you can keep your cabinets looking as good as new. We’d like to offer you a few tips for both daily maintenance and occasional deep cleaning.

effective solution that won’t harm your custom cabinets

  • Daily Care – Besides regular dusting, your cabinets benefit from a quick wipe-down after you cook, especially in areas near the stove where grease may have splattered. Use equal parts water and vinegar as an effective solution that won’t harm your custom cabinets. Use a soft cloth dipped in the solution to gently wipe away spills. Then dry them off so the wood isn’t vulnerable to warping. The vinegar smell will fade as the solution dries.
  • Deep Cleaning – Your cabinets should have regular deep cleaning, either biannually or when you feel they are beginning to lose their original lustre. An oil soap wood cleaner is more potent and therefore effective in cutting through layers of grease, but still safe for the paint or finish on your cabinets. Start in an inconspicuous space first to be safe. Rub the soap on your cabinets with a soft cloth, using a circular motion. Avoid pushing down or scrubbing too hard on extra dirty spots; instead, continue to rub gently until the grease is gone. Go back over the area with a clean cloth to remove residue. You can also use baking soda on especially difficult spots or caked-on substances.
